Each week your child will come home with new sight word flashcards called "popcorn words." Each night your child will practice them in different ways! At the bottom of the page is the entire year list of sight words!
At the beginning of the year we will learn two letters per week. Please have your child draw and color one item that begins with the letter Aa on the attached sheet. If your child prefers they can cut out a picture of something that begins with Aa. Please have your child write the word using a pencil. Please pick only one Aa item. For those children who understand letter sound relationship, I encourage you to challenge your child by asking them to “find” something from home that begins with the letter Aa (let them search on their own). For those children still working on letter identification and letter sound I suggest you find a few items (no more than three) that each being with a different letter. Discuss with your child what letter Aa says and ask them to pick that item that begins with the letter from the choices given.
